A window having a frame and at least one sash that is at least partially removable from the frame. The frame includes a sash opening and at least one sash engaging surface. At least one sash having at least one frame engaging surface is slidably mounted in the sash opening of the frame so that the frame engaging surface at least partially engages the sash engaging surface. At least one sash stop is mounted in the frame and is movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The sash stop is structured to maintain the sash in position in the sash opening when the sash stop is in the extended position. The sash stop includes resilient means between the frame and the sash stop for urging the sashstop into the extended position. At least one latch is rotatably mounted on the sash and positioned adjacent to the sash stop. The latch is rotatable between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the latch does not engage the sash stop. In the open position, the latch engages and depresses the sash stop so that the sash may be at least partially removed from the frame past the sash stop. A method of making the window is also provided.
Fenêtre comprenant un cadre et au moins un châssis qui peut être écarté en partie du cadre. Ce dernier comprend une ouverture pour le châssis et au moins une surface d'engagement avec celui-ci. Au moins un châssis, ayant au moins une surface d'engagement, est monté en coulissant dans l'ouverture du cadre de façon que la surface d'engagement du cadre s'accouple partiellement avec celle du châssis. Au moins une butée de châssis est montée sur le cadre et peut se déplacer entre une position prolongée et une position rétractée. La butée est configurée de manière à retenir le châssis en position dans l'ouverture lorsqu'elle est dans la position prolongée. La butée inclut un dispositif élastique entre le cadre et la butée afin de presser cette dernière dans la position prolongée. Au moins un verrou rotatif est monté sur le châssis et placé en contigu à la butée. Le verrou tourne entre une position fermée et une position ouverte. Dans la position fermée, le verrou ne s'engage pas avec la butée. Dans la position ouverte, le verrou engage et enfonce la butée de façon à écarter en partie le châssis du cadre, passé la butée. L'invention présente également une méthode de fabrication de la fenêtre.
