Apparatus including a rotating base roll (4) for applying at least one streched strip of a first material to a base web comprising a second material and moving continuously in a first direction. The discrete length strip is cut, on the rotating roll, from a continuous ribbon, is rotated on the base roll (4) to a desired orientation, and is stretched to a desired length. The apparatus includes the rotating roll feed apparatus for feeding the continuous ribbon to a circumferential engagement with the rotating roll, a cutter for cutting the discrete-length strips from the continuous ribbon, at least one rotating extensible platen (32) mounted on, and rotating with the rotating roll, and an applicator rotating in concert with the rotating base roll (4), for applying the cut, rotated, and stretched strips to the base web.
L'invention porte sur un appareil comportant un cylindre de base rotatif (4) servant à poser un ruban étiré d'un premier matériau sur un tissu de base fait d'un deuxième matériau et animé d'un mouvement continu dans un premier sens. Un segment de ruban, découpé sur le cylindre rotatif dans le ruban continue, tourne autour dudit cylindre (4) pour prendre l'orientation désirée, puis est étirée jusqu'à la longueur voulue. L'appareil comporte: un dispositif d'alimentation du cylindre rotatif (4) mettant le ruban continu en contact avec sa circonférence; un couteau découpant des segments dans le ruban; au moins une platine tournante extensible (32) montée sur le cylindre rotatif (4) et tournant avec lui; et un applicateur tournant en synchronisme avec cylindre rotatif (4) posant le ruban découpé, orienté et étiré sur le tissu de base.
