The apparatus is a rotating trimmer head, commonly used with a mower deck combination, but not limited to such a combination, wherein the trimmer head is resiliently positioned with respect to the mower deck for horizontal movement with respect to the mower deck. A resilient member holds the trimmer in an extended position away from the mower deck and allows the trimmer to move to a retracted position adjacent the mower deck when the trimmer meets a fixed obstacle. The rotating head facilitates a smooth engagement between the trimmer head and the obstacle as the trimmer head moves around the obstacle. As a result, an operator may mow in a straight line and do the trimming without interfering with the mower or the main deck.
L'invention concerne un appareil constitué par une tête de tondeuse rotative, généralement utilisée en combinaison avec un châssis de tondeuse, sans être toutefois limitée à une telle combinaison. La tête de tondeuse est positionnée élastiquement par rapport au châssis de tondeuse, afin de permettre un déplacement horizontal par rapport audit châssis. Un élément élastique maintient la tondeuse en position déployée, à distance du châssis de tondeuse et permet à la tondeuse de se déplacer en une position rétractée, adjacente au châssis, lorsque la tondeuse rencontre un obstacle fixe. La tête rotative permet d'avoir un contact plus souple entre la tête de tondeuse et l'obstacle, lorsque la tête contourne ce dernier. Il s'ensuit qu'un opérateur est dès lors en mesure de tondre en ligne droite et d'effectuer la coupe, sans gêne quelconque avec la tondeuse ou le châssis principal.
