ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rotation control mechanism for a diaphragm operat- ing ring in an interchangeable objective including a mount support ring adapted for rotatably supporting the diaphragm operating ring which is provided with a rotatable range for diaphragm present and a position for automatic diaphragm regulation so that the diaphragm may be manually preset with- in said rotatable range for diaphragm preset and automatical- ly regulated by an exposure control mechanism in the camera body at said position for automatic diaphragm regulation, wherein said mount support ring is provided at an angular position corresponding to one rotational end of said rotat- able range for diaphragm preset and an angular position cor- responding to said position for automatic diaphragm regulation with two rotation control pins, respectively, which are spaced from each other in the direction of optical axis and biased to project outwardly with respect to said mount support ring; and wherein said diaphragm operating ring is provided with a locking groove adapted to receive one of said two rotation control pins depending on the rotational position and a single unlocking member adapted to bear against one of said rotation control pins received in said locking groove and to displace this rotation control pin out of the locking groove against the biasing force acting upon said rotation control pin.
