There is also disclosed an improved tympani stick (60) having a striking head (62), and a handle (64) terminating in a butt end (68), the improvement comprising a weight (66) added near the butt end (68) sufficient to balance the tympani stick (60) 25 % to 41 % or 35 % to 41 % from the butt end (68).
