A protective sleeve can be inserted through tubing and latched in a manner that resists rotation. At the conclusion of the through tubing operation that involves rotational movement, the sleeve is withdrawn on the string that previously extended through it.

On peut insérer ce manchon protecteur dans une colonne de production et le bloquer de façon à ce qu'il résiste à la rotation. Lorsque l'opération de forage qui implique un mouvement de rotation est achevée, on retire le manchon en le faisant passer sur le train de tiges qui le traversait auparavant.
