ROTOR BLADE ATTACHMENT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A turbine wheel assembly having an improved blade attachment is disclosed. Techniques for increasing the low cycle fatigue life of the components forming the attachment are developed. In one specific embodiment a "fir tree" type attachment includes interlocking root teeth and disk teeth. Correspondingly, grooves accommodate the interlocking teeth. Each groove is contoured in a first region to a first radius and in a second region to a second radius. -1-
