Abstract A thermal shock and oxidation resistant rotor shaft comprising an inconel tube (1) is enveloped by a pressure loaded ceramic sleeve (2). The ceramic sleeve consists of several segments placed co-axially with the tube (1) and hermetically mutually fastened between two flanges (3,4) by means of a pressure device (7).
