ABSTRACT The present invention provides a rotor unit for a centrifugal analyser with a rotor base connected with a drive and a rotor head which, in operation, is connected with the rotor base, said rotor head includ- ing chambers for the reception of a sample liquid and, radially outwardly from the associated sample chambers, measuring chambers for the measurement of characteristic parameters for the detection of components of the sample, as well as liquid channels for connecting the sample chambers with the measuring chambers, wherein the rotor head comprises a plurality of different insert elements which are exchangeable and connectable with the rotor base at different selectable positions, said insert elements being positionally stable when the centrifugal analyser is in operation. The present invention also provides an insert element for use with this rotor unit, wherein the insert element comprises a sample chamber, a measuring chamber and a fluid channel for connecting the sample chamber and the measuring chamber and reagents for carrying out an analytical determination, said reagents being in a form which is storage-stable and can be transported with the insert element. Furthermore, the present invention provides a centrifugal analyser with the above rotor unit and comprising evaluation means for evaluating measurement results which correspond to the analytical determin- ation of more than one component of one or more samples in a rotor running.
