ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Cleaning imaging material from a xerographic imaging surface with a cleaning blade with reduced friction between the blade and the surface is provided without image degre- dation by an appropriately roughened surface, which roughness is formed on the photoconductive surface by substrate pro- etching to provide a final or post coated roughness pattern of 3 to 5 microns and less than 20 microns.
