The disclosed invention provides an apparatus for removing the twine from a large round bale comprising a drum adapted to be rotatably mounted on an implement such that the drum may be moved into contact with the surface of the bale with the axis of the drum in general alignment with the axis of the bale. Teeth extending from the surface of the drum break and grab the twine and wrap it around the surface of the drum. Stripper teeth strip material other than twine from the breaking and grabbing teeth. A plurality of pivoting blades may be provided to cut the twine from the surface of the drum. Once the twine is removed, the rotating teeth may be used to un-roll the bale.
