ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of bulk loading and transporting timber in the industrial processing thereof in industries including the wood pulp, hard board, particle board and wood wool cement board industries, comprises transversely cutting felled timber logs into log portions each having a length from two thirds to two times its diameter by feeding each log through a multiple saw having a holding system in a timber land; mechanically loading the cut log portions into a space in a transport vehicle in a random manner such that the log portions are disposed in the space without being stacked parallel to one another and with the space occupying ratio of timber to transport space being at least fifty per cent and transporting the vehicle to an unloading point, at which log portions are unloaded from the vehicle.
