ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rubber composition comprises 100 parts by weight of at least one rubber component selected from natural rubber and diene type synthetic rubbers and 20 - 70 parts by weight of carbon black having: (i) cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide adsorption specific surface area (CTAB) of 60 - 110 m2/g, (ii) DBP oil absorption amount of 135 - 200 ml/100 g, (iii) the ratio of CTAB (m2/g)/IA (mg/g) of 1.15 - 1.40 where IA is an iodine adsorption amount, and (iv) an average aggregate gap diameter (Dm angstrom) of -4.00 x [CTAB (m2/g)] + 767 or more.
