The invention concerns a rubber composition to be used for making tyres, comprising at least (i) a diene elastomer, (ii) a white filler as reinforcing filler and (iii) a coupling agent ( white filler/elastomer). The invention is characterised in that said white filler consists entirely or partly of a titanium oxide having the following characteristics: (a) it comprises more than 0.5 % in volume of a metal element other that titanium selected from the group consisting of Al, Fe, Si, Zr or a mixture of those elements; (b) its BET surface specific area ranges between 20 and 200 m?2¿/g; (c) its average particle size (in volume), recorded as d¿w?, ranges between 20 and 400 nm; (d) its speed of ultrasonic deagglomeration, recorded as .alpha., measured according to the so-called ultrasonic deagglomeration test, at an amplitude of an ultrasonic probe of 600 W, is higher than 2.10?-2¿ µm?-1¿/s. The invention also concerns the use of said rubber composition for making rubber articles, in particular tyres or semi-finished products designed for those tyres. The inventive composition is used in particular for making coloured tyres or semi-finished articles such as running treads of tyre sidewalls.
Composition de caoutchouc utilisable pour la fabrication de pneumatiques, comportant au moins (i) un élastomère diénique, (ii) une charge blanche à titre de charge renforçante et (iii) un agent de couplage (charge blanche/élastomère), caractérisée en ce que ladite charge blanche est constituée en tout ou partie d'un oxyde de titane ayant les caractéristiques suivantes: (a) il comporte plus de 0, 5 % en masse d'un élément métallique autre que le titane choisi dans le groupe constitué par Al, Fe, Si, Zr ou d'un mélange de ces éléments; (b) sa surface spécifique BET est comprise entre 20 et 200 m2/g; (c) sa taille moyenne (en masse) de particules, notée dw, est comprise entre 20 et 400 nm; (d) sa vitesse de désagglomération, notée .alpha., mesurée au test dit de désagglomération aux ultrasons, à 100 % de puissance d'une sonde ultrasons de 600 W, est supérieure à 2.10-2 µm-1/s. Utilisation d'une composition de caoutchouc conforme à l'invention pour la fabrication d'articles en caoutchouc, en particulier de pneumatiques ou de produits semi-finis en caoutchouc destinés à ces pneumatiques. La composition de l'invention est notamment utilisée pour la fabrication de pneumatiques colorés ou d'articles semi-finis colorés tels que des bandes de roulement ou des flancs de pneumatiques.
