Vulcanizable rubber compositions are disclosed which contain co-activator of vulcanization which is a polymeric amine, that is, a hydrocarbon polymer with pendent alkyl amine groups. The co-activators impart increased rates of vulcanization with little decrease in scorch delay and very little increase in the modulus of the cured compositions. No increase in heat build-up or decrease in flex-fatigue life is shown. Typical polymers forming the backbone of the co-activators include EPDM rubber and polymers from butadiene or isoprene, with optional co-monomers.
L'invention concerne des compositions de caoutchouc vulcanisables qui contiennent un co-activateur de vulcanisation qui est une amine polymère, c'est-à-dire un polymère d'hydrocarbure avec des groupes d'amine alkyle pendants. Les co-activateurs provoquent une augmentation des taux de vulcanisation, en ne réduisant que faiblement le retard de grillage et n'augmentant que peu le module des compositions durcies. Aucune augmentation de l'accumulation de chaleur ni diminution de la résistance à la fatigue en flexion ne sont observées. Des polymères typiques formant le squelette des co-activateurs comprennent le caoutchouc EPDM et des polymères à partir du butadiène ou de l'isoprène, avec éventuellement des co-monomères
