A styrenic copolymer composition comprising 55% to 94% by weight of one or more styrenic monomers; 2% to 25% by weight of one or more maleate-type monomers; and 4% to 20% by weight of an elastomer composition comprising one or more partially hydrogenated elastomeric polymers comprising repeat units from one or more monomers according to the formula 63% 1,4 cis/trans butadiene, 1% 1,2 vinyl butadiene, 26% tetramethylene, and 10% butylene. The styrenic copolymer composition may also comprise one or more high molecular weight elastomeric polymers having a number average molecular weight of greater than 12,000 and optionally, polybutene. The styrenic copolymer composition is formed via polymerizing methods. A thermoplastic sheet is made by extruding the polymer melt composition to provide a thermoplastic sheet. The thermoplastic sheets can be thermoformed into containers suitable for use in microwave heating of food.
L'invention concerne une composition de copolymère styrénique comprenant de 55% à 94% en poids d'un ou plusieurs monomères styréniques; de 2% à 25% en poids d'un ou plusieurs monomères de type maléate; et de 4% à 20% en poids d'une composition élastomère comprenant un ou plusieurs polymères élastomériques partiellement hydrogénés renfermant des motifs répétés d'un ou plusieurs monomères selon la formule : 63% de 1,4 cis/trans butadiène, 1% de 1,2 vinyl butadiène, 26% de tétraméthylène et 10% de butylène. La composition de copolymère styrénique de l'invention peut également comprendre un ou plusieurrs polymères élastomériques de poids moléculaire élevé possédant une masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre supérieure à 12,000 et, facultativement, du polybutène. La composition de copolymère styrénique précitée est formée selon des procédés de polymérisation. On fabrique une feuille thermoplastique en extrudant la composition fondue de polymère de manière à obtenir une feuille thermoplastique. On peut thermoformer les feuilles thermoplastiques dans des contenants convenant au réchauffement d'aliments par micro-ondes.
