RUBBER-MODIFIED THERMOSETTABLE RESIN COMPOSITION Abstract of the Disclosure Thermosettable resin composition designed for aerospace and other high-performance applications are described comprising (a) a diglycidyl ether of the formula Image in which R is selected from alkaryl, cycloalkyl, aromatic, heterocyclic, -SO2-, -O-, -S-, and the like, and each R' is independently selected from H, lower alkyl including methyl and ethyl, and halide; (b) a rubbery polymer; and (c) a greater than stoichiometric amount of a polyaromatic polyamine curing agent for the diglycidyl ether. The cured composition exhibits high Tg, good toughness and low water absorption.
