ABSTRACT Specific radial-type or branched rubbers are used to prepare rubber-reinforced monovinylidene aromatic polymer resins. It has been found that such rubbers wherein the solution viscosity is less than 60 cps, the Mooney viscosity is relatively low and the ratio of Mooney viscosity to solution viscosity falls within certain ranges can be used to prepare improved ABS- and HIPS-type resins. The rubbers should have Mooney and solution viscosities such that the ratio of the Mooney to solution viscosities is at least 0.7 for the ABS-type resins and at least 1.1 for the HIPS-type resins. The use of these rubbers also provides improved mass-type polymerization processes wherein higher rubber concentrations can be acheived at the same time that improved products are obtained. 35,795-F
