ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE RUBBER TIRE HAVING POLYVINYLIDENE CHLORIDE/ELASTOMER INNER LINER COATING A rubber tire having a vinylidene chloride polymer/elastomer polymer blend inner liner is dis- closed. This coating may be about 1 to 3 mils thick. The polymer blend has low air permeability, high elongation, low modulus and excellent flex resistance. The polymer blend may be prepared by combining an aqueous vinylidene chloride polymer emulsion adjusted to pH of about 6.5 to about 8, with an elastomer latex, and applying the resulting mixed emulsion by conventional techniques to the inner surface of the carcas or inner liner of a green tire.
