The invention is directed to a rules based method and system (100) for monitoring and reporting the performance of a project. The invention further includes indicators that identify variances in the project performance. The invention further provides for a dashboard type way of presenting the information in the form of indicators that allow a user to determine whether a project is not performing as expected. The rules (138) according to the invention can denfine variance limits for the data representative of the project performance and be used to change the indicators as a function of applying the rules to the project data. The invention further contemplates providing method and system in which data received from the data sources (112) and stored in an oversight system (130) that cannot be accessed or modified by the parties that are the sources of the data, thus providing an independent general ledger for the project data.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système fondé sur des règles destinés à surveiller le statut, l'état d'avancement et les performances d'un projet et à établir un rapport de ces caractéristiques. Cette invention concerne aussi un procédé et un système qui comprennent des indicateurs qui sont sélectionnés en fonction de règles permettant d'identifier des variations dans le statut, l'état d'avancement et les performances du projet. Cette invention concerne aussi une façon de présenter les informations de type ordinateur de bord, qui présente les informations sous la forme d'indicateurs, lesquels permettent à un utilisateur de déterminer si un projet ou un élément de projet ne fonctionne pas comme on le pensait ou comme on avait planifié qu'il fonctionnerait. Les règles de cette invention peuvent définir des limites de variation des données représentatives des performances du projet et être utilisées pour modifier les indicateurs en fonction de l'application de ces règles aux données du projet. Cette invention concerne aussi un procédé et un système dans lesquels des données reçues de sources de données et stockées dans un système sous surveillance qui ne peut être accédé ou modifié par les parties sources de ces données, ce qui permet de disposer d'un grand livre indépendant pour les données du projet.
