ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a mounting and running board combination which is inherently capable of being fitted to vehicles such as pick-ups, vans, and recreational vehicles, to provide for easy access to and from the cab for the operator, which combination is readily adaptable to fit to a variety of vehicles of different types and dimensions. The running board is adapted to be fitted to these vehicles by means of a mounting which comprises at least two mounting means at least one of which includes an elongated rigid member which is separate from and detachably attachable to the underside of the step portion of the running board and extends beneath the cab of the vehicle and is provided for mounting the elongated member to the vehicle beneath the cab portion.
