Herein are disclosed devices and methods that can be used to provide an indication of the need to change a filter in a small forced air handling unit, based on the actual operating time (runtime) of the unit. The methods rely on the use of at least one vibration sensor that is placed in contact with a surface of an exterior component of the air handling unit and that can determine whether the unit is operating by sensing vibrations of the surface caused by operation of the unit.

L'invention porte sur des dispositifs et sur des procédés qui peuvent être utilisés pour délivrer une indication de la nécessité de changer un filtre dans une petite unité de manipulation à air forcé, en fonction du temps de fonctionnement (temps de marche) réel de l'unité. Les procédés sont basés sur l'utilisation d'au moins un capteur de vibration qui est disposé en contact avec une surface d'un composant extérieur de l'unité de manipulation à air et qui peut déterminer si oui ou non l'unité fonctionne par détection de vibrations de la surface provoquées par le fonctionnement de l'unité.
