S-BENZYL THIOLCARBAMATES AND THEIR USE IN CONTROLLING WEEDS IN RICE FIELDS Abstract of the Disclosure Novel S-benzyl thiolcarbamates are disclosed, having the formula Image in which R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methoxy, R2 is selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, and allyl, and R3 is selected from the group consisting of straight-chain C3-C6 alkyl optionally substituted with one or two methyl groups, and allyl. The compounds are particularly effective in the control of weeds associ- ated with rice crops.
