Dans un appareil de régulation de l'énergie électrique transmise, on obtenait auparavant une caractéristique de polarisation non linéaire lorsqu'on mesurait le rapport signal/bruit (S/B). La présente méthode consiste à créer une table de conversion pour obtenir cette caractéristique inverse dans un circuit de mesure du rapport S/B (10). Lorsque le circuit diviseur (9) obtient une valeur S/B, le circuit de la table de conversion (1) la reçoit comme donnée d'entrée et produit une valeur S/B corrigée en se servant de la table de conversion, ce qui permet d'obtenir une mesure S/B très précise. Cette valeur S/B, mesurée et corrigée, est comparée à une valeur de référence S/B, et une demande d'augmentation et de diminution de l'énergie électrique transmise est expédiée à une station mobile (53). On détermine alors dans cette station mobile (53) quelle sera la quantité d'énergie électrique transmise d'après les indications reçues de la station de base (20). La station mobile effectue cette tâche en transmettant un signal d'informations.
