A safety apparatus for linemen is described which includes an arcuate plate having an outer radiused surface, an inner radiused surface, a first end and a second end. The inner radiused surface is adapted to accommodate the circumference of a pole. Means for detachably securing the arcuate plate to the circumference of a pole extends between the first end and the second end of the arcuate plate. A primary support member is provided having a first end and a second end. The first end is attached to the outer radiused surface of the arcuate plate and the second end extends radially from the outer radiused surface. An attachment track extends radially from the outer radiused surface of the arcuate plate. The attachment track is connected to the primary member adjacent the second end, such that the attachment track is reinforced by the primary support member and the primary support member is reinforced by the attachment track. A fall- arrest device and such tools and equipment as a lineman may require are attached to the attachment track.
