A type of small knife in a rectangular C shape, with a small slot in the middle, containing a very sharp blade that can cut seat belts when they became stuck following an accident. Suitable for all vehicles in which seat belts are mandatory. On conventional seat belts, a ring is attached to the upper seat belt anchor for a 155-mm nylon cable so that the seat belt cutter is always close at hand. A velcro fastener can also be used. The small device can be removed and the seat belt cut by introducing the belt into the cutter. This allows the person to exit or be evacuated from the car. This item does not exist at present, and people who fear finding themselves in such a position keep a small knife or a pair of scissors in the car glove compartment or in their purse. But such items would be useless in case of accident, as they would be out of reach.
Genre de petit couteau en forme de C rectangulaire, avec une petite fente en son centre, contenant une lame très coupante, permettant de couper la ceinture de sécurité, quand a la suite d'un accident la ceinture reste bloquée. Convient dans fous les véhicules ,dans lesquels on doit porter une ceinture de sécurité. A partir d'une ceinture de sécurité conventionnelle, il suffit de fixer a la partie supérieure du système d'attache, un collier pour cable de nylon de 155mm. de long, ou encore avec un système d'attache en velcro. Pour que ce coupe ceinture soit toujours à porté de la main. Grace à ce coupe ceinture de sécurité, il suffit de décrocher ce petit appareil et de couper la ceinture de sécurité en introduisant la dite ceinture, à l'intérieur du dispositif coupe-ceinture et la personne peut quitter ou être évacuée du véhicule. Cet objet n'existe pas présentement, et les gens qui ont une crainte face à cet éventualité, ont un petit couteau ou ciseaux dans le coffre à gant de l'auto ou dans leur bourse. Mais ces objets seront inefficace à la suite d'un accident, car ils seront hors d'atteinte.
