A safety brake system for a trailer comprises a brake end, an actuation end and a biasing unit. The brake end comprises a brake unit adapted to be secured to a trailer and positioned to block at least one wheel of the trailer when actuated. The actuation end comprises a mount adapted to be secured to a front end of the trailer and a probe operatively supported by the mount for displacement with respect to the trailer. The probe is operatively connected to the brake unit for actuating same. The probe is displaceable between a hitching state in which the probe is adapted to contact the hitch of a vehicle, and a braking state in which the probe actuates the brake unit. The biasing unit biases the probe against the hitch of the trailer in the hitching state and toward the braking state, such that the brake unit is actuated when the hitch is separated from the trailer.
L'invention concerne un système de frein de sécurité pour remorque, comportant une extrémité de frein, une extrémité d'actionnement et une unité de sollicitation. L'extrémité de frein comporte une unité de frein prévue pour être fixée à une remorque et positionnée de façon à bloquer au moins une roue de la remorque lorsqu'elle est actionnée. L'extrémité d'actionnement comporte une monture prévue pour être fixée à une extrémité avant de la remorque et une sonde supportée fonctionnellement par la monture en vue de son déplacement par rapport à la remorque. La sonde est reliée fonctionnellement à l'unité de frein afin d'actionner celle-ci. La sonde peut être déplacée entre un état d'attelage où la sonde est prévue pour entrer en contact avec le crochet d'un véhicule, et un état de freinage où la sonde actionne l'unité de frein. L'unité de sollicitation pousse la sonde contre le crochet de la remorque dans l'état d'attelage et en direction de l'état de freinage, de telle sorte que l'unité de frein soit actionnée lorsque le crochet est séparé de la remorque.
