ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present disclosure describes a safety device for covering a rectangular curb having upper rectangular edges. The device comprises a frame having a rectangular lower portion forming a rectangular lower aperture, the lower portion having predetermined dimensions so that the frame can rest on the upper edges, and a top portion forming a rectangular upper aperture. The device also comprises a rectangular cover having a side provided with hinges connected to the top portion so that the cover can have one position in which the upper aperture is closed, and another position in which an access is provided to the curb by means of the upper aperture. The cover has a sufficient mechanical resistance for supporting the weight of a person.
