A safety device adapted for removable attachment to a selected one of the rungs of a ladder for securing the ladder to a structure against which it operatively positioned is disclosed. The device features a rigid hollow body which surrounds the selected rung, a pair of flexible straps secured to opposite end portions of the rigid body for being adjustably connected to a portion of the structure, and a flexible sheet or cover connected on one edge portion thereof to one side of the rigid body so that the sheet is disposed between the flexible strap connections. A free edge portion of the sheet opposite the one edge which is connected to the one side of the body is removably connectable to an opposite side of the body so that the sheet can confine the straps between itself and an underside of the body when the straps are not in use to secure the ladder to the structure.
Dispositif de sécurité pour une fixation non permanente à un barreau sélectionné d'une échelle en vue de fixer cette dernière à une structure contre laquelle elle est adossée. Le dispositif présente un corps creux rigide qui entoure le barreau choisi, deux courroies flexibles fixées aux extrémités opposées du corps rigide de façon à être raccordées de manière réglable à une partie de la structure, et une feuille flexible ou enveloppe raccordée par une extrémité à un côté du corps rigide de façon à placer la feuille entre les connexions de courroies flexibles. Une extrémité libre de la feuille, située à l'opposé de l'extrémité déjà raccordée, peut être fixée de manière non permanente à un côté opposé du corps de façon que la feuille puisse retenir les courroies entre elle et un côté inférieur du corps lorsque les courroies ne sont pas utilisées pour fixer l'échelle à la structure.
