The present invention relates to a safety device (1) for the fuze of a spin-stabilized projectile, said projectile having a detonator carrier (10) that can pivot from a safety position into a firing position. In order to make it possible to lock the detonator carrier (10) in the firing position in a simple manner, despite the application of only a little force and a high degree of stiffness, the present invention proposes the integration of pivotable locking lever (15) into the safety device (1), this locking lever being actuated and pivoted by the detonator carrier (10) when the detonator carrier is pivoted. As soon as the detonator carrier (10) has reached the firing position, a detent catch (16) that is formed on the locking lever and appropriately shaped engages in a cutout (21) in the detonator carrier in such a way that the detonator carrier (10) cannot pivot back.
