A safety helmet has a helmet body (40) and a direction indicating device (1) mounted on the helmet body (40). The direction indicating device (1) has a left emitting assembly (2) and a right emitting assembly (3). The left emitting assembly (2) and right emitting assembly (3) are mounted on the helmet body (40) opposite to each other and both have a lamp (11)(12), a tilt switch (20)(21) and a driving circuit (53)(63). The driving circuit (53)(63) is connected electrically between the lamp (11)(12) and tilt switch (20)(21). When the rider wearing the safety helmet tilts his/her head, the tilt switch (20)(21) makes the driving circuit (53)(63) in a closed circuit condition to light the lamp (11)(12) so as to provide a warning effect to other vehicle drivers with the lighting lamp (11)(12).
