05011-2 ABSTRACT A safety hood for a hypodermic needle comprises a flexible body having a "U" shaped cross section and a closed free end. The opposite end of the body has a pivot member projecting from the lateral wall thereof and is provided with an integral spring or conventional flip-flop ending in an adapted member. The free end of the body includes a needle bearing and a vise-wall having cuttings guiding the needle insertion. This free end also has a pair of locking lugs which project from the parallel side walls of the body and have guide cuttings which act to avoid undesired escape of the needle when placed between them.
