An improved safety plug for use in a receptacle portion of an electrical outlet. The improved safety plug comprises at least one cover member that has a predetermined size and shape. A pair of prong like members are secured at predetermined locations to a back surface of said at least one cover member and extending outwardly therefrom. There is at least one flexible cord like member secured at one end thereof to a predetermined portion of such cover member. Additionally, there is an attachment means, having an aperture formed therethrough, secured to a second end of the at least one flexible cord like member for enabling such improved safety plug to be removably secured to such electrical outlet.
