A safety line anchor includes an elongate top member adapted to overlie and span across at least two parallel spaced joists. The top member has bolt receiving openings. An elongate bottom member is provided which is adapted to underlie and span across the at least two parallel spaced joists. The bottom member has bolt receiving openings. Several clamping bolts extend through the bolt receiving openings in the top member and the bolt receiving openings in the bottom member thereby clamping the at least two parallel spaced joists between the top member and the bottom member. A connector is secured to the top member adapted for attachment of a safety line.
