- 27 - SAFETY NON-RESEALABLE PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICE FOR GALVANIC CELLS ABSTRACT A cover-diaphragm/gasket assembly fox galvanic cells having a safety, non-resealable pressure relief means formed by punching in the cover at least one opening with at least one extending tooth that is disposed in cooperative relation to the diaphragm/gasket and the at least one tooth being adapted to restrict and secure a portion of the diaphragm so that upon a buildup of internal pressure to a predetermined level, the diaphragm section will be expanded into the opening of the cover where the diaphragm section will be torn, tbereby providing a vent opening.
