A safety pen needle assembly is provided herein which includes a hub and a needle fixed to the hub. Further, a first shield is provided, along with a second shield which has a biasing elemenc disposed to urge the second shield proximally towards a proximal end of the needle. The assembly further includes a releasable retaining assembly for releasably retaining the second shield in an initial position against the force of the biasing element. A predetermined extent of movement of the first shield causes the retaining assembly to release the second shield, and, wherein, with the second shield being released, the second shield is urged proximally by the biasing element to a second position where the second shield covers the proximal end of the needle. Advantageously, with the subject invention, an assembly is provided which allows for passive activation of a shield on a non-patient end of a pen needle assembly by a patient-end shield.
Linvention concerne un ensemble aiguille de stylo de sécurité qui comprend un moyeu et une aiguille fixée au moyeu. En outre, un premier blindage est prévu, conjointement avec un second blindage, qui comporte un élément de sollicitation disposé pour pousser le second blindage de façon proximale vers une extrémité proximale de laiguille. Lensemble comprend en outre un ensemble de retenue libérable pour retenir de façon libérable le second blindage dans une position initiale contre une force de lélément de sollicitation. Une ampleur de mouvement prédéterminée du premier blindage amène lensemble de retenue à libérer le second blindage et, avec le second blindage libéré, le second blindage est poussé de façon proximale par lélément de sollicitation vers la seconde position où le second blindage couvre lextrémité proximale de laiguille. Avantageusement, avec la présente invention, un ensemble est prévu, lequel tient compte dune activation passive dun blindage dune extrémité de non-patient dun ensemble aiguille de stylo par un blindage dextrémité de patient.
