A rack (5) for securing large, heavy, industrial sized cylindrically shaped objects (10), such as coils, on the flatbed (71) of a vehicle for transportation, made from two parallel angle beams (11) welded to at least two cross-members (21) disposed perpendicular to the beams. Each beam has an inside inclined portion (12) facing inwardly and covered with a rubber insert (81) to carry the weight of the coil. The outwardly facing inclined portion (13) of the angle beam supports the inside portion from collapse. A header beam (41) on an end of the beam pair prevents longitudinaly movement of the coil out of the rack. There is also shown a means for securing the rack to the flatbed.
L'invention concerne un support (5) servant à immobiliser de grands objets lourds, de forme cylindrique et de dimensions industrielles, telles des bobines, sur la plate-forme (71) d'un véhicule en vue de leur transport. Le support est constitué de deux poutres (11) cornière parallèles, qui sont soudées à au moins deux éléments (21) transversaux placés de façon perpendiculaire par rapport aux poutres. Chaque poutre comporte une partie (12) intérieure inclinée dirigée vers l'intérieur et recouverte à l'aide d'un élément d'insertion (81) en caoutchouc, qui sert à porter le poids de la bobine. La partie (13) inclinée dirigée vers l'extérieur de la poutre cornière soutient la partie intérieure de façon à empêcher que celle-ci ne s'effondre. Une poutre (41) de tête située à une extrémité des deux poutres permet d'empêcher que la bobine n'effectue un mouvement longitudinal hors du support. L'invention concerne également un moyen permettant de fixer le support à la plate-forme.
