A rake is provided including a U-shaped bail supported from the handle and a tine construction incorporating an elongated bar and a plurality of laterally outwardly projecting tines extends between and supported from the free ends of the arms of the bail for movement between an extended operative position with the plane of the tines disposed substantially normal to the plane of the bail and a retracted position with the plane of the tines substantially corresponding with the plane of the bail and the tines fully enclosed within the confines of the bail and projecting toward the free end of the handle which projects outwardly from the longitudinal center portion of the bight portion of the bail. Detent structure is provided for releaseably retaining the tine construction in its extended or operative position as well as in its retracted position and the tine construction and bail include coacting stop structure for limiting pivoting of the tine construction from the retracted position to the operative position.
L'objet de l'invention est un rateau avec traverse en forme de U supportée à partir de la poignée et construction de dents incorporant une barre allongée et une pluralité de dents pointant vers l'extérieur s'étendant entre les extrémités libres des bras de la traverse auxquelles elles sont supportées, l'ensemble permettant le mouvement entre une position opérationnelle déployée, le plan des dents disposé de manière sensiblement normale par rapport au plan de la traverse et une position rentrée où le plan des dents correspond substantiellement au plan de la traverse et les dents entièrement enfermées dans le fond de la traverse et pointant vers l'extrémité libre de la poignée, laquelle fait saillie vers l'extérieur à partir de la partie centrale longitudinale de la boucle de la traverse. Une structure de détente sert à retenir temporairement les dents dans leur position déployée ou opérationnelle ainsi que dans leur position rentrée; les dents et la traverse comportent une structure de butée associée servant à limiter le pivotement des dents à partir de leur position rentrée jusqu'à leur position opérationnelle.
