A safety scalpel (10) includes a blade (12) having an orifice (14) disposed between a sharp end and a blunt end, and a handle (20) with a front portion (24) adapted to receive the blunt end of the blade (12) and securely engage the blade (12) via the orifice (14). The safety scalpel (10) also includes a substantially hollow housing (40) configured to retain internally the blade (12) and slide back and forth onto the front handle portion (24) between a first position in which the sharp end of the blade (12) is fully exposed for operational use and a second position in which the sharp end of the blade (12) is fully enclosed for safety storage before activation. The safety scalpel (10) further includes an actuator (46) configured to disengage the internally retained blade (12) from the front handle portion (24) when the blade housing (40) is in the second position.
Scalpel de sécurité (10) comprenant une lame (12) dont un orifice (14) est placé entre une extrémité pointue et une extrémité émoussée, ainsi qu'une poignée (20) présentant une partie frontale (24) conçue pour recevoir l'extrémité émoussée de la lame (12) et pour s'accoupler à cette dernière en toute sécurité par l'intermédiaire de l'orifice (14). Ce scalpel de sécurité (10) comprend également un organe de commande (46) conçu pour désaccoupler la lame (12) retenue à l'intérieur de la partie poignée avant (24) quand le boîtier (40) se trouve dans la deuxième position.
