A protective shield that may be secured to an electrical racking rod of the type used for performing electrical work on various types of energized electrical equipment. The protective shield includes a transparent plate formed of an impact resistant, fire retardant material; a clamping mechanism secured to the plate and at least one adaptor for securing the racking rod to the plate. The adaptor is engaged by the clamping mechanism to secure the racking rod to the plate. The protective shield provides physical protection to workers when removing or resetting electrical circuit breakers by acting as a barrier between the worker and the equipment while providing complete visibility to the task being performed. A plurality of adaptors may be provided to enable the plate to be utilized with any one of a plurality of different diameter racking rods.
La présente invention se rapporte à un écran protecteur qui peut être fixé à une perche isolante électrique utilisée pour effectuer des travaux électriques sur divers types d'appareils électriques alimentés en courant. L'écran protecteur selon l'invention comprend : une plaque transparente formée d'une matière ignifuge résistante aux chocs ; un mécanisme de serrage fixé à la plaque ; et au moins un adaptateur fixant la perche isolante à la plaque. L'adaptateur est en prise avec le mécanisme de serrage pour fixer la perche isolante à la plaque. L'écran protecteur assure la protection physique des ouvriers lorsque ces derniers retirent ou réarment des disjoncteurs électriques, en servant de barrière entre l'ouvrier et l'appareil tout en offrant une visibilité parfaite de la tâche à effectuer. Une pluralité d'adaptateurs peuvent permettre à la plaque d'être utilisée avec une perche isolante quelconque parmi une pluralité de perches isolantes de diamètres différents.
