UNITED STATES/CANADA TITLE: Safety Socket Assembly INVENTOR: Ken W. Arnold ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A socket and associated plunger for fitting on a conventional plug. The socket includes a switch that is operated only when the plunger is forced deep into the socket, that is, when the plug is fully inserted in the socket. The plunger adapts to conventional plugs and is inserted into an opening in the socket, through a shaft, to operate a switch located at the end of the shaft. The switch is operable to engage and disengage the hot circuit of the socket.
