A safety strap to act as a back up for supporting straps for a gasoline tank or muffler is molded from a moldable material. The moldable material may be a moldable ceramic material, a thermosetting material or a thermoplastic material. The safety strap includes a connector for connection to a vehicle underbody at each end the connectors are molded into the strap. One connector may be a hinge pin for hingable attachment to the underbody. The other connector may be a latch.

Cette invention concerne une ferrure de retenue de sécurité servant d'appoint aux fixations normales d'un réservoir d'essence ou d'un silencieux, ladite ferrure étant réalisée à partir d'un matériau moulable: céramique moulable, matériau thermodurcissable ou matériau thermoplastique. L'objet de l'invention comprend un connecteur destiné à se fixer au châssis du véhicule et composé de deux parties moulées respectivement à même les deux bouts de la ferrure. Une des parties peut être un axe de charnière pour montage articulé sous le châssis, l'autre partie pouvant être un dispositif à enclenchement par pression.
