In a safety system (1) for a nuclear plant with a number of catalytic recombiner elements each triggering a recombination reaction with oxygen when hydrogen is entrained in an onflowing gas flow, reliable elimination of the hydrogen from the gas mixture is to be ensured with an especially high degree of operational safety even based on comparatively extreme conditions or scenarios of the aforementioned type. For this purpose, according to the invention, the recombiner elements and/or the flow paths each connecting two recombiner elements on the gas side are configured in such a way that a pressure pulse triggered in the gas medium by an ignition during the recombination reaction in a first recombiner element triggers a gas displacement process having a flow rate of at least 5 m/s in the onflow region of a second, adjacent recombiner element.
L'invention concerne un système de protection (1) pour centrale nucléaire, comprenant une pluralité d'éléments recombineurs catalytiques qui déclenchent une réaction de recombinaison avec de l'oxygène en présence d'hydrogène entraîné dans un flux gazeux affluant. Ce système de protection doit également permettre d'éliminer de manière fiable l'hydrogène hors du mélange gazeux, même dans des conditions ou dans des cas de figure comparativement extrêmes de ce type, avec une sécurité d'exploitation particulièrement poussée. Selon l'invention, les éléments recombineurs et/ou les voies d'écoulement reliant dans chaque cas deux éléments recombineurs côté gaz sont conçus de sorte qu'une impulsion de pression déclenchée dans un premier élément recombineur dans le milieu gazeux par ignition au cours de la réaction de recombinaison, déclenche un phénomène de déplacement du gaz à une vitesse d'écoulement d'au moins 5 m/s dans une zone d'afflux d'un second élément recombineur.
