ABSTRACT A flotation vest is provided, in which the belts form a four-way sling arrangement for the upper torso of the user. A first belt encircles the vest at the level of the middle of the ribcage, and a second belt is in a V-shape, with its ends attached to the top of the lapels of the vest. The two belts connect to a plate member which supports a hook to which part of the rigging of a wind- surfing board can be connected.
