ABSTRACT The invention is concerned with novel salicylic derivatives of N-acetylcysteine, having the general formula: Image (I) wherein X is hydrogen, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or the radical of a pharmaceutically acceptable organic base. The compounds of the formula (I) exhibit anti-pyretic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and mucolytic activities.
