A compound useful as a cocatalyst component, especially fur use as an addition polymerization catalyst compound, corresponding to the formula: (A*+a)b(Z*J*j)- cd,wherein: A* is a proton or a cation of from 1 to 80 atoms, preferably 1 to 60 atoms, not counting hydrogen atoms, said A* having a charge +a; Z* is an anion group of from 1 to 50 atoms, preferably 1 to 30 atoms, not counting hydrogen atoms, further two or more Lewis base sites, said Z* being the conjugate base of an inorganic Bronsted acid or a carbonyl- or non-cyclic, imino-group containing organic Bronsted acid; J* independently each occurrence is a Lewis acid of from 1 to 80 atoms, preferably 1 to 60 atoms, not counting hydrogen atoms, coordinated to at least one Lewis base site of Z*, and optionally two or more such J* groups may be joined together in a moiety having multiple Lewis acidic functionality; J is a number from 1 to 12; and a, b, c, and d are integers from 1 to 3, with the proviso that a x b is equal to c x d.

L'invention concerne un composé utile en tant que composant cocatalyseur, plus particulièrement utile comme composé catalyseur de polymérisation par addition, correspondant à la formule: (A?*+a¿)¿b?(Z?*J*¿¿j?)?-c¿¿d?, dans laquelle: A?*¿ représente un proton ou un cation comportant de 1 à 80 atomes, de préférence de 1 à 60 atomes, sans compter les atomes d'hydrogène, ce A?*¿ possédant une charge +a, Z?*¿ représente un groupe anionique de 1 à 150 atomes, de préférence de 1 à 30 atomes, sans compter les atomes d'hydrogène, comportant deux ou plusieurs sites de base de Lewis, ce Z?*¿ représentant la base conjuguée d'un acide de Brönsted inorganique ou d'un acide de Brönsted organique contenant un groupe carbonyle ou imino non cyclique, J?*¿ représente, dans chaque cas de façon indépendante un acide de Lewis contenant de 1 à 80 atomes, de préférence de 1 à 60 atomes, sans compter les atomes d'hydrogène, coordonné à au moins un site de base de Lewis de Z?*¿, et éventuellement un ou deux groupes J?*¿ qui peuvent être joints ensemble dans une entité possédant une fonctionnalité d'acide de Lewis multiple, J étant un nombre compris entre 1 et 12, et a, b, c, et d étant des entiers allant de 1 à 3, sous réserve que a x b soit égal à c x d.
