Disclosed is a sample element (1000) for holding a volume of bodily fluid drawn from the skin of a patient (ps) at a withdrawal site (LS). The sample element comprises a housing defining a sample chamber (1002) therein, and a barrier (1004). The barrier has a first side configured to contact the skin of the patient at the withdrawal site, and a second side in fluid communication with the sample chamber. The barrier is configured to be pierced by a lance (1013), to permit the bodily fluid to pass from the first side to the second side. Also disclosed is a method of drawing a bodily fluid from the skin of a patient at a withdrawal site. The method comprises placing a first side of a barrier against the skin of the patient at the withdrawal site. The method further comprises forming a first opening through the barrier and a second opening in the skin of the patient at the withdrawal site. The first opening and the second opening are in fluid communication. The method further comprises placing a sample chamber in fluid communication with a second side of the barrier.
L'invention concerne un élément d'échantillonnage (1000) destiné à contenir un volume de fluide corporel extrait de la peau d'un patient (PS) sur un site d'extraction (LS), cet élément d'échantillonnage comprenant un boîtier délimitant une cavité d'échantillonnage (1002) et une barrière (1004). La barrière a une première face, conçue pour être en contact avec la peau du patient sur le site d'extraction, et une deuxième face en communication fluidique avec la cavité d'échantillonnage. Cette barrière est conçue pour être percée par une pointe (1013) pour permettre au fluide corporel de passer de la première à la deuxième face. La présente invention porte également sur un procédé pour extraire un fluide corporel de la peau d'un patient sur un site d'extraction. Ce procédé consiste à placer une première face de la barrière contre la peau du patient sur le site d'extraction, à former une première ouverture à travers la barrière et une deuxième ouverture dans la peau du patient sur le site d'extraction, cette première et cette deuxième ouverture étant en communication fluidique, et à placer une cavité d'échantillonnage en communication fluidique avec la deuxième face de la barrière.
