(57) Abstract The invention relates to a sampling device for taking a sample particularly from a flowing or fluid substance, such as paper pulp, said sampling device comprising a body (1) to be fixed at a process interface, an element (2) mounted in connection with the body for effect- ing a sampling operation, as well as a flush- ing device (13) for effecting a flushing opera- tion for those components of the sampling device which during a sampling operation are in contact with the fluid substance. For a sampling operation, said element (2) for effect- ing such sampling operation is adapted to be shifted to an operative position into communica- tion with the fluid substance through an open- ing (7) or a like made in body (1), whereby said element (2) for effecting a sampling operation in its inoperative position cuts off communication between opening (7) of body (1) and a process (P). For flushing purposes, said flushing device (13) is adapted to open through the action of pressure caused by a flushing medium and to close by means of elements (19, 31, 33, 34) acting in the di- rection opposite to that of the pressure action of said flushing medium.
