A sampling device includes a cannula (10) having a first end (13), and a second end (25). The first end (13) has a beveled tip (22), and a threaded section (16) with a projecting helical rib (19). The second end (25) includes a handle (28). The cannula (10) further includes an axial channel (34) extending between the first, and second ends. The axial channel is configured to receive a variety of medical devices including an axial channel (34), a stylet (37) having a sharpened point (43), and a core collector (58) in a core biopsy procedure. The core collector (58) has an axial cavity (67) extending between a first end (61), and a second end (64) of the core collector (58). The first end (61) of the core collector (58) includes one or more teeth (70) extending into the axial cavity (67). The second end (64) of the core collector (58) includes a haft (73), and a connector device (76) for connecting the core collector (58) to the cannula (10).
