The present invention relates to a novel machine for dissolving lumps of sand and dispensing flowable sand at a pre-determined rate from a sand hopper. In particular, the invention comprises a screw feeder with teeth or an uneven screw flight perimeter, which is located at the bottom of a steel or metal hopper and which rotates to grind sand lumps down to feedable size while it is feeding or dispensing flowable sand from the hopper.
